The Machine

Meet Russ Our Cut & Jet machine

The CUT & JET is designed and constructed with a “bridge” structure for the processing of stone benchtops.

All of the details of this saw have been engineered and designed to meet the steady processing demand of quarried and engineered stone.

The machine is composed of a mono-bloc structure on which the bridge can move to cut shapes exactly as they are designed.

“Russ” is a CNC Bridge saw with a high speed water jet which can cut, polish, drill, and shape any angle or curve.

FAQ Section

How long does it take to cut my benchtop?

That depends on the material, its thickness and quality of finish. For example a standard 20mm  island with an undermounted sink cutout and top mounted hob and Backsplash combo could be cut polished and ready for install in under 2hrs

Q2- How does templating work?

Templating is the process where we convert measurements to a detailed plan in 3D. We use Flexijet3D to measure and create the 3D drawing that the cutting machine runs off. Previously templating was completed physically by literally using tapes and cardboard cut to size with detailed markings. That takes hours and is not strictly accurate. With Flexijet all measurements are available to the CAD system almost instantly and minimises human error. This saves time and means no missing measurements or space calculations that don’t work. Our templates can be sent directly to the saw for cutting.

Even with completely new kitchens the shape and size of each corner and edge needs to be absolutely precise. Often we find that surfaces and sizing can differ by fractions of measurement. The templating process in 3D helps us to cut “true to life” settings needed for all kitchen set ups.

How Cutting Works?

The bridge saw cuts all the straight edges for your benchtop and the waterjet will cut the scribed wall measurements to follow the contours and curves. Depending on the type of material being cut we will apply the correct cutting methods and tooling for granite, ceramic/porcelain, marble, quartzite, engineered stone. standard material thicknesses are 12mm-20mm-30mm. But we aren’t limited to those thicknesses as we can mitre stone to a larger thickness for the required task.

How installs work?

Our trained staff will arrive onsite at an agreed time and date with all the tools and safety equipment required. They will prep the area for install and work with or around other trades to make it a smooth installation. depending on if the job requires joins the crew will use resin glues to connect parts together onsite. The sinks will be pre mounted depending on the design or ease of access into its finished position. If the material is natural the install crew will reapply the final sealer coat before leaving.
